Get Involved
In its essence, CSA is a network bringing together different communities of people – communities of students, professionals and volunteers based in North American and communities of school children, and parents and educators, women’s groups, health officials, and many other local community members in the Dominican Republic - to make a positive change.
Here in the Dominican Republic, people face very real challenges. The reality is that there is much inequality, such as lack of access to quality education and health services. But we also believe these realities can be changed. And where CSA is working, they are being changed. By bringing
together people who dare to challenge the status quo – local leaders who can envision better lives for their families and their communities and international volunteers and students who are passionate about making a difference – lives are changes and communities transformed.
We need you to make this possible
There are a number of different ways that you can become involved, and make a direct impact.
First you can take part in a trip to the DR were you can work side by side with local people on a project designed to use your particular skills and abilities and match them with a particular need in the community. We have different programs for groups and individuals. Check out the International Exchange page to learn more.
We especially need you as a group leader to put together a team from your school, church of your friends; we’ll give you the tools and guidance to make it happen.
You don’t have to travel to get involved, as there are number of ways to support communities from North America. We need people to help raise support for a number of on-going local community projects. Help put the roof on a new community center, make possible a nutrition program for individuals living with HIV or provide books for children’s literary in a rural village.
You can also support us by spreading the word. We especially need past students and volunteers to act as local representatives, helping to share with others what your time here was like. Send us a message, if this is something you would like to learn more about.
